hey — i’ve been writing about the plans for redeveloping the centre of peckham (rye lane around the train station) for a little while now. my piece for the guardian (with these amazing photographs from sophiedavidson) came out on monday.
(pictures of Shafait Rana, stall owner [fruit & veg stall by the station]; Benedict O’Looney, local architect; Mary Yacoob, artist; and Shaun McDowell, artist [Hannah Barry Gallery])
Took some pics for The Guardian to go with an article by Matt!
if you’re interested in what’s happening, come down to the bussey building from 3:00 today, where a completed scale model of the middle of rye lane is about to be revealed.
me and sophie had a look when it was just starting and it already looked amazing.
i’d really recommend coming by 6:00 to see a screening of Bleacher on the Rye, a doc about the development, and staying to hear the co-design engagement specialists talk at 7:00 about how you can have your say.
(all photos, again, sophiedavidson)
Anonymous said: hey there. i know this is a probably very generic style question that you get but can't be doing with trawling through. anyway, i've been using a pentax k1000 for the past year and a half and i'd quite like to graduate onto something more advanced. i like taking photos of people and buildings. whether this means a new camera or new lens i'm not sure, so i'm seeking your advice! if you could tell me the merits to anything as well that would be sweet.
Lol I like your 2 lazy 2 scroll attitude. You could try a wide angle lens for a bit that can be fun. It kinda depends how much you wanna spend because a step up is gonna cost you quite a lot of ££ eg a contax g2 is about £500, maybe try out a point and shoot because they can be a nice change I would recommend a contax t2 (I miss mine a lot) or an Olympus mju ii or maybe you could try some medium format, a bronica etrsi or something might be a nice change and you’ll get a better ~quality~ photo. Either way trying out new cameras is fun so it just depends what vibe you wanna go for, in first year at Uni I had about 30 cameras and then honed it down to just the one through trial and error (rip contax g2) GOOD LUCK

Amy in Paris. MY CONTAX G2 IS BROKEN AGAIN and I can’t afford a new one again. What camera’s are people repping right now?? I kind of feel like 3 broken contax’s is a sign ie maybe I want a Mamiya 7.

Evie Cahir drew one of my pics <3

If I did then I would be very worried about how many times I’d asked myself what kind of film I use, you’d think I’d know
Lately Becca has pretty much been the only person on my Instagram but I do have other friends but what I don’t have is money to develop films this month 💔
Big thumbs up to Vivian’s phone blog
